My Teaching Philosophy

·        My teaching philosophy is based on three critical concepts:  knowledge, critical thinking and curiosity.  Knowledge enlightens us about the world around us.  Critical thinking enables the use of knowledge in the course of everyday life.  Curiosity helps us understand our limitations and move forward to new levels of understanding and function.
·         My philosophy of classroom management is to provide each student with a vision for learning.  When students have a vision for the future they can understand the need for structure.  Well defined procedures set the stage for relationships that enable students to reach goals, and move forward with a life vision.
·         My philosophy of discipline works toward helping students develop the self-confidence, and self-control required to set and realize tangible life goals.  I believe that a well structured classroom with clear rewards and consequences fosters an environment where students can work cooperatively towards achievement.
